The Ingham County Landbank has been restoring homes in the City of Lansing as part of a project to take abandoned homes and make them livable, low income housing. After all of the restoration and landscape was complete a sewer inspection identified a broken pipe under the foundation. Since the basement was already refinished with a “B-Dry” system and landscape newly finished, excavation was not an acceptable method to repair the sewer pipe. The repair was directly under the covered porch. PipePatch was used to fix a 4” Cast Iron drain pipe. The process was completed in under two hours. No excavation and no restoration was needed. All of the work was performed using the existing 4” Cast Iron clean-out located in the basement.
